Must-Have Skills:

  • US CPA designation or successful completion of the CPA exam.
  • 2–4 years of US tax experience, including preparation, review, and examination of corporate, partnership, individual, and fiduciary income tax returns.
  • Current work experience at a CPA firm in the United States.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience supervising tax staff.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid capacity at the Atlanta office.

Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Performs technical tax reviews and governmental tax examinations as directed by the Manager and Senior Manager.
  • Prepares federal, state, and local income tax returns and information filings.
  • Acts as a resource for tax associates and Business Assurance team members on specific tax issues and questions.
  • Ensures all federal and state income tax returns are prepared timely, accurately, and in compliance with applicable laws.
  • Possesses a thorough knowledge of the firm’s philosophy and its positions on tax matters.
  • Communicates effectively with clients and meets critical deadlines.
  • Participates actively in client meetings and tax planning efforts.
  • Assists the Business Assurance (Audit) Department with larger clients when necessary.

Requirements:

  • 2–4 years of experience preparing corporate, partnership, individual, and fiduciary income tax returns in a public accounting firm.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience supervising and directing the work of tax preparers.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent required; a master’s degree in taxation is preferred.
  • Current CPA license is highly preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Proficiency with CCH ProSystem fx Tax or other tax automation/workflow software is preferred.
  • Client-service oriented.
  • Team player with creative problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
